PSA Testing Conducted & Supported by The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust

April 2014

Racing Initiative Flourishes

Wendy!
Following the two page spread in the Racing Post on 9th March, Graham was interviewed by Nick Luck of Channel 4 Racing live from Newbury Races on Saturday 29th March following which fellow presenter and former leading National Hunt jockey Mick Fitzgerald had a PSA test the minute he came off air!

The Racing Post have also very kindly offered to sponsor more testing at Racecourses and events are confirmed at Cheltenham on 30th April and Ascot on 10th May with more to follow.

You may be aware the Racecourse Initiative (which now exceeds 500 tests) was started by Graham to support owner and prostate cancer sufferer Colin Peach who fulfilled a lifetime ambition by buying a Racehorse and naming him "Prostate Awareness”. It is hoped the horse, who is now three, will make his seasonal debut in May.

At a recent Open Day at the Stables of his trainer Patrick Holmes in Middleham Yorkshire, some fellow prostate cancer sufferers (including one racing household name) expressed an interest in helping to fund the horse with

a view to carrying out more awareness/testing sessions at Racecourses in the future. The charity also completed 107 PSA tests on the day, a Racing initiative record! Graham said "the day couldn't have gone better and if the interest shown by some powerful industry insiders can be developed, I believe the sky's the limit in terms of testing at Racecourses".
