PHLEBOTOMIST/HCA JOINS LOCAL CHARITY TO FURTHER DEVELOP PSA TESTING SERVICES
Warwick, Friday 30th January 2015: The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust is delighted to announce that Wendy Hodgkinson, a regular PSA test sample Phlebotomist/HCA for the charity, has joined the team with immediate effect. Her role will be expanded beyond taking blood samples at regular events, to computerising all of the 34,000 plus "Green" results the charity has on file to assist early identification of PSA rate change velocities (movements) and thereby improve diagnostics. Most importantly, Wendy will offer daytime testing services and potentially, workplace visits from new offices generously sponsored by Clare Brown of 66B Limited.
Wendy says “I am thrilled to be taking on this important role within the Charity having worked with Graham and his team on events for the past 5 years” She adds “I will be conducting regular PSA blood tests on most Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from our new offices on Smith Street, Warwick. ALASTAIR MACBRAYNE OF MACBRAYNE WINES IN WARWICK LAUNCHES SLIMATHON, TARGETTING £5000 OF DONATIONS TO LOCAL PROSTATE CANCER CHARITY
Warwick, Friday 30th January 2015: Wine Merchant and local Bon Viveur, Alastair MacBrayne, is aiming to shed 4 stone and in the process raise £5.000 to help The Graham Fulford Charitable Trust (TGFCT) fund it's ambitious ongoing PSA testing programme.
Alastair, a well known character in the Warwick area said "I believe the Charity, based here in Warwick, does wonderful work in raising men’s awareness of the need to keep a careful eye on the health of their prostate”. To date, working with other like minded groups, TGFCT have carried out over 42,000 PSA tests, assisting in the early diagnosis of more than 800 Prostate Cancers. Alastair adds, “I want to help Graham and his team reach their next two goals of 50,000 tests and 1,000 cancer finds that they are targeting in 2015".
