Richard Barr - Cycling for GFCT

Richard Barr
‚ÄčIn the first two weeks of July, Richard Barr from Warwick District Council’s Finance Department will be cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats, raising money for the Chairman's Charity, The Graham Fulford Trust.

The route covers approximately 1000 miles, equating to an average of 71 miles per day. Richard said, "The challenge has been on my bucket list for a very long time but I've managed to put it off thus far, mainly due to a lack of annual leave but partly because in the past I was relieved to get off my bike after 15 miles, so the thought of cycling 71 miles a day for 2 weeks non-stop half terrified me.
"This year, however, I've been awarded an extra two weeks' annual leave which has been made possible by my 20 years' service at WDC so I have used this opportunity to complete the challenge and, whilst initially doing it purely for my own sense of accomplishment, also raise money for the Chairman's Charity."

The Chairman has chosen The Graham Fulford Trust as his charity, a local organisation that arranges prostate testing for men over 45.
